all of obama's offices are controlled by obama. they're not controlled by local democratic parties and in fact, they're not coordinated in most cases with the local democratic candidates. mitt romney does not have his own ground game. he has outsourced that function to the republican national committee so when you go to the romney field offices in the different states what you see is that they're dominated by the local candidates, dominated by the person running for congress or for senate in that particular area and romney may have a small part of the real estate and may not have any staff there. he's really just one component of what they're trying to do. republicans argue this is an advantage because it means nobody is duplicating efforts but it also means less control from headquarters. >> jennifer: that's interesting. some people might say that the local control allows them to tailor a campaign to the local issues. but you also don't have as much of a romney feel to it. so i guess that's the disadvantage. >> as i'm sure you kno
